Just out of curiosity, if anyone knows the major differences between the two engines. This is what I noticed thus far.

Appears the oil filter may have been located to the bottom of the engine on the 2015 TDI (GSW).
Engine feels a little peppier.
A lot quieter . Enjoyed the diesel clatter from my wifes Jetta TDI!

From my understanding it's the same engine, just refined a little more.. Also, does anyone know for certain if the new 2.0's have a timing chain or belt? I know the 2.0 TSI motor is chained!

2015 has a significantly different cylinder head design, intake intercooler, exhaust particulate filter, and yes, the oil filter is in a different spot.

Its also got a different cooling system concept, about 30 extra electrical sensors, and I think the motor mounts are different too?

According to VW literature the ONLY thing the two engines have in common is cylinder bore spacing. Everything else is new.
