digifant

I've got a 90 A2 golf that has the digifant computer. The buddy I bought it from said not to invest money in this motor because it's not worth it, you can't do many things to it bla bla bla, and to buy a 16v something or other, is this true. Should I? I just bought, my first dub (pics later) I would appriciate your help. THANKS DUDES!!
