So I changed the CPS and still nothing. I will see about the MAF. Even when unplugging the MAF I get no spark. The car HAS been sitting for a year without starting.

Changed plugs
Gas is flowing and added additives and fresh fuel
Changed CPS to new one
New Starter(Old one fried) new one smokes a lot (yikes)

Right now I'm at loss. No burnt fuses anywhere.

Know this is a, well ancient post, but Ephry, did you ever get your VW that was sitting for a year cranked up? I am in the somewhat same position, though i am getting spark, at least 12v to the ignition coils and brand new coils and plugs. I tried cranking without the MAF plugged up but got the same crank scenario. I hadnt tested 12v to the fuel pump, though i swear i hear it come to life when putting ignition to On. I have a new pump coming in tmrw and am putting a new MAF and Crankshaft sensor. I am not getting any codes when pulling from the OBD port, though i am in the process of making sure all cables are connected to the OBD port properly. I am able to connect to the ECU with the adapter and programs i use for OBD codes and monitoring.

Just wanted to see if there was some other gotcha you found with your situation as it seems my mk4 1.8t is in the same situation, somewhat at least with sit time, that you could possibly share. Tried to send a DM but couldnt find the option to do so if it is even there with this forum.
