I found the ones you were talking about. My only question left has to due with the blue tint. I would like a set without the blue tint such as the ones shown in the first pic but the description still says it has a blue tint. Can someone shed some light on that?

they are there. non blue blind spot mirrors. looks like ecs just copy an pasted the description lol. just installed my blue tinted mirrors again today as the originals had a a defect on mount. loving them already. blue tint does pretty good at calming down the blinding lights of lifted trucks riding my ass.

I realize this is a lot to ask, but can anyone post up a DIY guide to installing OEM aspherical mirrors? Alternatively, anyone know of a relevant link, or whether the mirrors themselves come with good instructions? (I looked in the DIY section, but did not see anything).
Thanks very much in advance.
FYI, I had a 2012 Touareg TDI Sport with the aspherical mirrors. I sold it and bought a 2016 Touareg TDI LUX. I had the 2016 before i sold 2012 so I switched the mirrors. On the 2016 there are two additional wires on the driver side mirror that are soldered or a copper plate that is glued to the back of the mirror (I think they are for lane departure, but not sure). These very tiny copper plates need to be carefully pried off with a very small (watchmaker’s) screwdriver and then glued to the back of your new mirror. I used a hot glue gun to weather seal the plates (like from the factory). The passenger mirror it typical two wires for the defrost.

Welcome... but... are you sure you're in the right forum? :) This thread is almost a decade old. And as mentioned before, the mirrors on the Mk5 VWs only had the two thin wires for the defrost, clipped on with a small connector.
I saw that after I posted. I’ve used aspherical mirrors beginning in 2004 on a BMW 3 and my 2012 Jetta Sportwagen, and 2012 Touareg. All only had two wires up until the surprise on my 2016 Touareg. Still relevant though. Same two heater wires, and with a little careful work the other two wires can be attached on the driver side mirror (passenger side still only two wires). I’ve not found anywhere that sells the four wire mirrors prepped with the quick connector.
