Do AWD's suck that bad?

I have a 2000 with an AWD model engine and I wanted to know if they are really that bad? Will it make a large difference if you use a different turbo setup? Or am I doomed with this motor?

Well yeah I know this, but if I had a ko4 and an AWW had a ko4 would it still be 10 hp on me?

hmm you seemed to answer your own question. It's got 10more hp on you regardless what you do. In that case, i'd suggest trading it in on a new AWP motor since they make more than the AWW motor, then you won't feel this way!

My K04 awd runs just fine.......lol.......I wouldnt worry too much about pure dyno numbers...Just put on a K04 and learn how to launch and you will beat up on most cars......

It's not so bad - there isn't any software available for AWW + K04 yet and in any case you won't be too far off once you have a chip + exhaust. Enjoy!

Except for a couple local AWW cars, I don't have any problems handling them with ease.

To be honest, there really isn't enough change to warrant trading your AWD in for an AWW, especially if you are planning a turbo upgrade. AWP is a bigger jump, but IMHO wouldn't be worth it either.

Are you running a Stage III ATP kit on a AWD?

What kinda mods do you have? If its stock, do the basic bolt ons and that should make you happy, if not, go with a bigger turbo lol http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I believe the fastest (and most powerful) 1.8T on Vortex is an AWD - 1.BillyT's Golf.

the engine code makes no difference once you have changed the turbo to a larger one (K04 or larger)....
