I have the stock big bumper fogs on my '91 gti, they have 100k on them...would new glass (new fogs) put more light on the ground?

In what way do you mean old? Like going dim? Bulbs will start to deteriorate after their rated hour life with the element eventually burning out.
They don't need assisted living or retirement home...

the bulbs are "new" but does the glass get old and pitted and scratched and let less light pass thru?

The more rock/sand pitts you get, the worse it will be. Hella or Inpro sells replacement lenses.

Yes, I got replacement lenses from Adirondack Auto for $33 each....Geunuie Hella.

i got mine and sanded them and ground down the glass to clear... my friend makes glass pipes (

) and he's somewhat of an expert.. he did it up for me... and tinted them, too...

I have 15... varying in size, with and without carbs, chamelion and non-chamelion, etc... i make a KILLING off them... but shhhh they're for tobacco use only....

I was actually talking about refurbishing headlight lenses/fog lights....I'm sure he's already got enough business from the other line of work....
