I've heard stories that if you're a cop (or were a cop) and you get pulled over for speeding, you pretty much get let off every time. Is this true?
A buddy of mine tells a story that he used to work for the local police department, and he had a pin he wore on his lapel from the department; he always wore it. He claims he was pulled over a number of times, and every time the officer saw the pin and let him go. Most times, they'd walk to the window, turn around and walk back to their car. Once, an officer asked him questions about what he did and they chatted for a few minutes before he was let go.
Is this just rumor?
