do stock trannys hold up to mods?

what kind of transmissions do people put on gti's when they are sportin 652hp with an turbo(EIP tuning A3 GTI), does stock hold up to that?
i know that my camaro tranny holds up to 700lb-ft but what about a VW?

i wouldn't think it'd hold up to that much hp.. and don't compare VW's to camaro's haha... i'd look into aftermarket if i were you...
