Do you ever turn your stereo off, roll the windows down and just listen to your engine?

Re: (20VsilvrGTI)

How about keeping the windows up, and listening to all of the crackling and rattling going on inside. I have a blown tweeter at the moment, and it sucks to listen to my radio, so I've been driving without it, and my car really does sound like a cheap plastic POS. I like it and all, but damn, that creaking is just ridiculous. I hear it from the center of the dash, next to the driver's a pillar, my doors. I hear a wierd creak coming from a back panel somewhere. Other than that, I do like to wind out my engine to hear my exhaust, especially on on-ramps, next to the big concrete walls. I need to find a tunnel...

. A little less character w/b cool, eh?
Love mine too!

You saying these cars come with a stereo?

I never listen to my radio. Barely even know how to work it. The exhaust note of the VR6 is all the entertainment I need. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
And you don't need to wind the engine up to hear it -- it growls the best at low rpm's.

Add a Remus, and ditch the resonator, and wind second and third to 6k+, pure bliss.

That's why I bought a diesel...........that and the smell, of course. I think I gauge my friends by how they react to the smell. If they say "reminds me of riding trains as a kid" everything's cool. If they say "I'm sick to my stomach" then it's time for them to walk.
Honestly, I have certain places I drive where the sound always bounces back......I can't help myself, the window's down. I love the sound of a 2.5" TT exhaust and a rattling TDI!
