Plz clarify... it sounds like you are asking is a new head unit (radio) required when you switch to HID headlights...

i believe that the Hids4less setup can allow you to use your stock headlight unit and use special ballasts and bulbs to get HIDs....however, I have heard from many people that these lights are horrible (although last month's european car magazine thought they were decent for $500)....... The Bosch setup ($1000+) comes with new headlight unit and everything....looks sweet if you got the money!
