i have the same chip as you do. here we only have 92 also, and thats what i use. no pinging and no limp modes here. everything works well for me with the 92 octance.

92 should be OK. I run 93 most of the time on my GIAC 4 and it will pull back timing during the summer according to my VAG-COM, but it doesn't ping. I see you're in Canada...you should be fine. Heat and humidity here in eastern VA KILL my power in the summer.

92 is fine...i use Esso's 92 with my V.04 GIAC.
