does an autometer air/fuel gauge need an extra 02 sensor???

the gys at my local vw dealer r having problems gettin my air/fuel gauge hooked up because there not sure if it needs an alternate 02 sensor just for the gauge???

wide-bands need their own sensors yes. if its a narrow band no, BUT, tapping into the existing sesnor is bad. it will affect the signal that the ECU sees/gets and the car will run poorly.
also, narrow band meters are useless...and too slow to be of any good.
i had one hooked up when i had my vw and never had any problems

what more do you want?
i hooked it up off the stock O2 sensor and never had any problems

sell it and get a true wideband
i suggest a PLX R500 as it matches almost perfect to the MKIV interior
