I used to have the deflector (before breaking it in half accidentally), I thought it looked OK on it's own, but definitely never with the black-outs. Those things look ugly no matter what you put them on. The deflector did protect my hood while on the road, especially in winter, but I use a bra now instead.

actually we talked about this earlier.. a few guys have them... but they only put them on for long trips.. good for getting stuck behind those dump trucks..

i am sure that guy also has window rain-guards on all four as well (or two if thats a gti or 2door golf). UGLY!!!!!!!! but i wouldnt mind the window rainguards being that i smoke.
