Re: does anyone know were to get a fiberglass hatch for a2 gti. (kingofA2`s)
i beleive duffman is right. besidies if you have a full fiberglass made hatch it would probably crumble after awhile. fiberglass isnt too stuff when someone actually makes something out of it. like strictly foreign for starters. they're bodykits are way too thin.

Im not aware of any for A2's. I have seen fiberglass hatches for A1's. They were for racing however, and didn't even seal to keep water out. I think they required pins as well.

I never remember seeing one for an Mk2 specifically, so I can't help you there.
Also, I can't see it being a whole lot lighter than stock. I'd just take the wiper and motor out of the stock one and be happy with that weight loss. Swap to poly or lexan windows for most of the weight savings back there. You could also cut some of the supports in the center of the hatch.

ever picked up a gutted hatch? no glass and no wiper stuff in it? theyre very light..its the glass that makes it heavy...if u could replace the glass with some sort of plexi glass or something it would be light.
