The following is quoted from the Neuspeed website...
*NEUSPEED Supercharger available for throttle-by-cable car only at this time. A kit for 2001 - later throttle-by-wire cars is currently in development.
I have an 02 2.0 Golf GL -- do I have throttle by wire or throttle by cable? I'm not seriously considering the neuspeed s/c at this point, I'm just curious. Anyone know where to look for info? Didn't find anything in the search that wasn't ambiguous...

take a look at your throttle body. It there is a cable coming off of it that routes back into your cabin, that is your throttle cable. If not, that sucks.

Ok thanks I'll check. From the two responses, you can see the difficulty I'm having trying to determine this... I've heard that only the other engine types (NOT the 2.0) are throttle by wire, but I'll do a DIY check when I get a chance.

The guy from Neuspeed emailed me back today. For anyone who's been watching this topic, he said the 02s are definitely DBW, kit should be available in january 03 sometime. Not too bad of a wait. Thanks again guys.
