I just bought a roll at the dealer. Part number AKL-433-012-02 and it cost me 5.95. There was enough tape to do both rear doors, and half of a front door. I did rears cause that's where the noise seemed to come from. I haven't tested it out yet, as it's raining and that makes the sqeaks go away mostly.

Re: Door squeak tape info (FatSean)

i just fixed my door squeaks! i thought i was the only person with this problem. anyway, mine squeaked when you pushed down on te armrest, so i was able to do that in order to find the exact location of the squeak. mine was at the rear of the door (just behind the door lock pins), along the top edge of the interior panel, where panel meets metal. i took some felt and crammed it in there with a flathead screwdriver. worked really well. no squeaks from the door anymore... now i have to find the ones in the back... good luck!

Yah, that tape sucks. I put it on all four doors and I swear it squeaked more than before. You'd think the stuff would be really slippery to stop the squeaks, but no it's more like scotch tape.

I'll have to try the felt thing. My worst door is my front passenger one though...

Damn, i thought this was my special little secret. i was going to open a VW no-more-squeek shop with the felt trick! Did this years ago on my GTI, and on my Jetta GT right after i got that. Works great.

I had this problem too. It is very annoying. I found that if you keep the weather seals soft or moist the doors won't squeak. I used silocone spray the first time. That worked great for about about 3 weeks. Now I use mink oil. It is a creme that people normally put on shoes. Works great, give it a try!

Id like to see some pics of the felt treatment, ever since i lowered my car i get the creaky squeaky.
I have gotten use to it, but i would love to stop it, if there was a relatively easy fix!

Re: Door squeak tape info (FatSean)

Well I took off the panel, wrapped the panel's top edge in felt, then jammed it back in. Door no longer sqeaks when I lean on the arm rest. Car still sqeaks like a bitch. Looks like I'll try putting felt on the door-tops where the no-sqeak tape is...
