[JRM VR6]

when i get in my car and try to shut the door, the latch just doesn't work and the door flies back open. any suggestions? thanks

did you accidentally flick the little lever in the door on the side where you open it?? i did that the other day... just had to flick it back...

That's the oldest trick in the book. We used to do that way back in community college. It would piss some people off big time. The other possibility is a frozen lock. This used to happen on my A2 Golf all the time. It sucked

I have had that happen once or twice two, usually in the cold when my passanger did not open the inside handle all the way...tey just kinds popoed it and pushed the door open. Look on the door at the actual lever, flip it down, close the door, and let your heart rate go back down.....

lol once i was driving my grandma's beater buick and accidentally did that and had no clue what happened... ended up tying the door shut w/ a shoelace and drove 10 miles like that hahahahaha...

you're in massachussets in february, so i'm gonna guess your door locks are frozen. this happened in my passat all the time, only solution was to hold the door with my hand until the locking mechanism unfroze. i suppose some lock de-icer would do the trick. if its not cold up there though, dont know what to tell you.

I used to have fun with that one myself.....I'm sure that's the problem..check it out.
