Double Din Monsoon Premium Sound

Greetings,
I just purchased an 02 Passat Sedan a few weeks ago with the Double Din Monsoon premium sound system.
I have noticed that the back speakers (tweets and mids) are VERY faint. They are not even as loud as the front speakers. Even if I fade to the back speakers only, they are not as loud as the front. Is this normal, or is there something going on with my sound system?

yup, had the same experience as u with my GTI 01

Same in '02 GTI. The back speakers are for fill only. You want the soundstage to be in front of you (ie, at the windshield) for correct sound imaging.
Of course, this all goes out the window if you're one of those guys with dual 12"s that drive by my house at night (I swear, one of these days I'm gonna hide in a tree with a slingshot...).

I went back to the dealer where I purchased my vehicle. I listened to the stereo in one of the Passat's that is identical to mine. The back speakers were just as loud as the front.
It looks like I'll be bringing my car in...
