Driving straight,heard clickity clackity.Okay.Noise stopped.Sounded like CV joint.Got home looked under vehicle.Boot still intact.Need info.Whats the best way to confirm the CV joint is starting to go bad.P.S.--I forgot the bread, the milk,got my ass chewed.HEY,I had to get home to check the Rabbit out .Right?????

Makes some hard turns in both directions. That should clue you in a little better. Turn the wheel all the way when making the turns. It's bad for good cv's to do this so a bad cv will ring in pretty quickly.

Forgot to mention---When I heard noise the steering wheel also starting shaking.

probally just some feed back from the bad part..........go out and do some tight circles............very easy fix, if you got the time....

Jack it up and spin the wheel by hand with the steering wheel turned all the way to each side. You should be able to feel it. Mine did the same thing a few months ago. I was using a goofy half-scissors style spare tire jack and it slipped and put a hole right through my floor board. My recommendation: use a good jack.
