Mine does it too. Just close your eyes when you turn something on and it goes away

large drop in power? you mean from the engine?
Re: Drop in power? (jcorallo)

Yes from the engine! A large chuck about 400 rpms would just bump the power down from the engine? Thanks for helping guys

Check your earth leads/straps from the battery to the chassis and gearbox. Make sure they are healthy.
Also pull the fusebox out slightly and make sure the earth cables (brown) are all good.
Anything electrical is always down to a bad earth.

This is the high speed fan correct?
If so you will feel the power kick, is you
low speed fan working?

Yep only my high speed works but I still feel the power kick down to other electrical assesories?

NOT SURE WHAT YEAR YOU HAVE OR YOUR MILEAGE , BUT, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT YOUR ALTERNATOR OUTPUT UNDER LOAD. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR ALTERNATOR OR VOLTAGE REGULATOR ( WHICH IS INTERNAL ON THE VR6 ) IS GOING BAD. YOU SHOULD ALSO CHECK THAT YOU HAVE THE 120 AMP ALTERNATOR AS OPPOSED TO THE 90AMP WHICH IS USELESS ON THAT CAR. THE REASON THAT STUFF HAPPENS WHEN YOU ACTIVATE ELECTRICAL ACCESORIES IS THAT ALL THE COMPONENTS WILL POWER SPIKE WHEN YOU FIRST TURN THEM ON IN THE VW'S, AND, IF YOUR ALT.OR REGULATOR IS GOING BAD IT'S NOT PUTTING OUT ENOUGHT POWER TO FIRE THE COIL WHEN YOU HAVE OTHER THINGS DRAINING THE AVAILABLE POWER SUPPLY. I'VE SEEN THIS CURED BY INSTALLING COMPETITION STEREO SYTLE ALTERNATORS WHICH YOU CAN GET IN 150 AMP. NO PROBS THERE.
Re: Drop in power? (rogergti)

I just had the Alternator juiced up to 150 amps in january and still puts out constant 14.5 volts easy
Thanks for your help anyway playa
