I would like to upgrade the single-outlet manifold on my '96 Golf CL (1.8, ACC engine...) to dual outlet manifold/twin downpipe configuration. Does anybody know if a manifold from the 2.0 8V engine fits on 1.8? If not, then which one of the A2 Golfs/Jettas had this twin-downpipe configuration? Will any of these fit my car?????

Do you visit the CL POWER (www.enthdegree.on.ca/vw)? I've been trying to organize a CL-get-together in Wpg (sometime in spring, when we get rid of this mud $ sludge
) maybe a photo shoot, or something.... Let me know if you're interested...

Yeah my car is a light blue.. it's actually called catalina blue... next time you see me wave at me and we will stop and chat...by the way what color is your car cuz i haven't seen a golf with M3 tails

What we need is this:


TT make it, it fits all A2 models 85 and up. Bending the pipe a bit wouldnt be a problem, but I dont know if the manifold fits our engine. After exams I'll call up motronix, they carry TT stuff and should know....

yeah, luke, I thought TT might have a solution for this, but I have a guy wrecking 4 2.0L cars (2 of them 1999), so used 2.0L manifold/downpipe would save me a few $$ for a killer exhaust
Otherwise, I'll have to go with TT (I figure, if it fits ALL A2 cars- it HAS to fit our cars too...)

I just saw your car on Wednesday just from the side and it was parked at UofW.
I noticed the M3 tails http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif We need to hook up for sure
All of you Winnipeg CL guys seem to just keep popping out of the woodwork!

Bob, since he's wrecking them, is there anyway you could just ask him to try the manifold out? What the setup on 2.0L anyway? Is it a dual like the pics I posted? It would save you some serious $$$ if you could go with the 2.0L one, the TT setup is pretty expensive..

, otherwise I'd give it a try (it would cost me a new gasket, but what a hell...) I would have to wait till April (after the finals...) to try this out.
Setup on 2.0 looks almost exactly as the TT setup from your pictures (only difference is the aluminum heat shield on the OEM downpipe...) Also, 2.0, just like the TT setup (and all other Mk2 Golfs, for that matter...), has BOLT-ON cat, unlike our cars' one piece downpipe with cat. (sweet thing about the bolt-on is that I would be able to use the TT high-flow cat...).

Regarding the meet, I hang out on CL POWER website quite often, so you can reach me there, or via e-mail ([email protected]). I'd wait till spring (man, can you belive it snowed yesterday...
), and organize something. I'll post an invitation both on Vortex & CL POWER.
