I am new to the Vortex and so I got to say there is alot of useful info here. I was wondering if anyone knew of any Dub shops around the Portland OR and Vancouver Wa area even Tacoma Seattle area that are good shops that know what they are talking about. Thanks for any info you can give.

I know of one other Dubber in the Kelso/Longview area, his name is Tedge Kearns, drives a super clean red '93 SLC. I don't know if he's on the Tex though...I know he's on the NW Corrado Club email list.

it would help to know what you're looking for. There's not anything in Vancouver that i know of, but in Portland check out Halsey Automotive, Matrix Motorsports, Dean shop is opening soon (Futrell), Specialized German, D&M (?)...
I'd also suggest picking up the yellow pages and checking out the auto repair section and scan for VW.... that's how i did it when i moved here... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Yeah, stay away from them Canadian Shops man...

Support your local DUB SHOPS and keep the Dub Cash Flowing local in the NW. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif There's LOTS of REAL knowledgeable DUB shops and mechanics here in the NW. Anything you want and anything you want done can be done here in the PNW, from buyng parts to custom work to bolt-ons.
Futrell's
Matrix
Evolution
etc
All of them have their own specialties.

Re: Dub Shops in the SW Washington/ Oregon Area (vorsichtcanada)

YEAH...THAT'S WHERE YA GET SCREWED!

Compare prices and you will see that the "tuners" there charge the same if not more...
Trust me...as one that has been there and done that... you don't want me to get into it...
Bottom line = do it locally...once they know you've got US dollars you'll be charged accordingly.
FWIW. I won't name names, but was quoted three dift prices by a shop at three difft times for the same work. I had a friend call that lives there and he got a completely different price...actually the same but in Canadian....
That's freakin' cheesy!
I'll stop now...trust me...stay local, I wish I would've...too late now though.

It's too bad someone did that to you. You should have said something to that tuner.

My friend, I do not think you understand, when they see your license plate or know you are from the US the quotes change. (I'm not talking about buying parts here, I'm talking custom work) b/c when you call for a quote, the first question is: "where are you calling from?"
I KNOW of others who are aware of this and say that it's normal for Canadian Dubbers to get "local rates", it's kinda gay if you ask me but whatever.

BTW, I'm not refering to the shop I finally took it to but if I would've gotten the bennefit of the exchange rate my car would've been HELLA MEAN! Now it just has potential...
