Alrighty.... probably going on Saturday morning to get UPsoluted... first thing I want to clear up is that since UP just flashes new software onto the stock chip... this shouldn't have any problems going to VW for service when they run diagnositics... will it???
They say no... they say its undetectable and that when they hook up the vag-com it is not taking me back to stock.... is this true fellow vortexers???
and one more thing while we are here.... i am thinking a little DV might add to the equation... so i think the forge 006 is the one.... any other suggestions and ideas on where the best price is online and what the install is like (instructions)???
thanks

Re: dumb question.. UPsolute and dealer vagcom issue question....... (soflawolfsburg)

i'm not upsoluted, but i know that your VW dealer will still be able to do their diagnostics without any problems. When they hook up their vag-com, they are NOT putting you back to stock, so don't worry about it.
Forge007 is also a good DV, along with the Bailey.

Re: dumb question.. UPsolute and dealer vagcom issue question....... (flanders)

thanks for the info... thats what I had heard... but I had heard a little of both..
excuse my forced induction ignorance... my first car was a jetta 2.slow that died becuase it was simply so damn slow....
one more question.... does anyone have pictures of where the diverter valve actually goes on the car??? and where can I buy these bad boys on-line???
is the Neuspeed turbo inlet the same as a diverter valve??
thanks again

Re: They say no... they say its undetectable (john s)

he's not asking if it's detectable...he's asking if the dealer can still run their diagnostics when they plug into the car. They'll have no problem scanning the engine's computer. (ultimately, yes they'll figure out a chip is in there...but a test drive will do that too!)
And here's a great how-to for a diverter valve install: http://gti_matador.tripod.com/dvinstall.html

Yeah I was kind of asking if both they could still run their diagnostics and not have a cow and say that everything is going wrong because of the chip.....
....its funny though that the guy who is doing the UPsolute for me said clearly that there is no way that the dealer could tell... unless they drive it..

Actually, I don't think so. When they plug in their tool, they shouldn't be able to tell you are chipped. I thought that it was just the test drive that gave things away. Any UP distributor wanna comment?

They have to drive the car with 2 people in the car per VW Instructions one holding the scan tool and the other doing the driving, they then have to check requested boost, not actual, and go from there. The dealers don't, to my knowledge have the ability to pull up maps and compare them with stock.
