Just spent the last 4 days road tripping from Dallas, TX back to Dover, NH with it. This car is a blast to drive and hooks like crazy when you get on it. The car feels a lot tighter than the GTI was stock and the steering feels a little heavier too. The only casualties suffered on the trip back were minor curb rash on the right rear wheel and a tire bubble in the left front due to a rogue pothole somewhere in Kentucky. :banghead:

Gotta blame Kentucky huh?

Anyway, looks like good plans. Might I suggest the Ghostknit front lip? If you ask me its my favorite. Just been waiting for the snow to stop to put mine on. And good find btw with only 12k miles. Where in Texas did you buy the car? I almost bought a black one down there.

Edit: you will also want to add this to the list of vagcom tweaks http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5903103-DIY-ESC-defeat

dunno what your engine build date is, but i'm thinking it might be close enough to the water pump recall period where you may want to call VW with your VIN and see if it was part of the recall campaign. if it were, i'd want it verified that it was replaced, and if not, get it covered.

enjoy the car man!

I was looking at the Ghostknit or the Kerscher. After seeing how the Golstkit fits the bumper style better than just a full CF lip like the Kerscher, I'm definitely going that direction. Plus it's cheaper. I bought the car in Dallas at the Autonation Volkswagen. They had three MK6 R's on the lot... talk about hoarding...

I am going to have John do the ESC defeat for me when we meet and do VAGCOM tweaks. I just forgot to write it down in the list.

I was reassured when I got it CPO that all recalls were taken care of. I have a 15k service I'm going to do in about a thousand miles that will include replacing the cam follower and my service guy will double check everything to make sure I'm all up to date. He's very thorough.

Pretty clean withblow miles,...wait until you get stage 2+, you'll enjoy it that much more.
Still getting used to how quickly this thing gets going, but yea stage 2+ will be a blast. Plus the R won't need to drink gas like a fish drinks water at that point.

Oh you know I will. I'm gone next week but hopefully we can do it when I get back before we get any more snow. I want to get some donuts in.:laugh:

I was able to get some parts so I could begin the trunk setup for the air suspension. I'm going to suspend the compressors from the floor and run a tank with hardlines above it because of the shallow space I have to work with. I'm keeping the spare and as much as I can underneath the false floor so that should help. Once I run the hardlines, I'll know where to split the floor across its width. That way I can remove it to get to the spare and storage areas underneath the floor without moving or removing the tank setup.

And here's a photo I took test fitting the Futuras on my buddy's R:
