I've been bored, watching some synapse BOV youtube videos. Most of them are just comparisons with other well established brands... But they use the wrong spring etc. in the name brands, then claim theirs is better.

I did stumble upon this vid though:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated
Basically, as far as I could tell, he's claiming he bypassed the turbo restriction by re-routing dumped boost to post MAF/air filter. (like a DV)
He claims this cuts out the turbo restriction and lets the engine breath as it would NA...
Ahem... Thoughts?

Re: DV VS BOV, throttle response out of boost (-Khaos-)

i hate this guy.

how about this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v..._page
even in the intro of the BOV's the tial is clear and crisp, and the "syncronic" junk is fluttering.. then on the road the tial is surging and the synapse junk is clean, no surge.. ive never heard a tial surge like that.

Don't see any merit to his claims.
The breathing NA is pretty ridiculous, its just sucking air through the bov.

Right, his argument, and let's use the stock 1.8T because it's easy, is that:
With the DV cracked open at idle, the air has a choice: Go Through turbo (restriction) OR go UP the DV, into the charge pipe (bypassing the turbo).
Since air always takes the path of least resistance, it makes sense it would go into the DV backwards and therefor give you better initial throttle response.
Well... That's the theory.

twin piston ftw.... Wont open until it has vacuum and pressure in the pipes, otherwise its completly closed.
