Oh man thats pretty steep for tie rods. Inner, outer, and boot?
Yes- inner, outer, we can include the boots.

MK3 manual tie rods are not readily available, so we have to import them. Add to that shipping is included and Paypal fees and it's a very fair price.

There are a lot of fees folks don't consider for parts like this- international shipping, duty fees, etc. It adds up.

Ehh fair enough..

So just to confirm these tie rods will mate the inner tie rod to a mk2 manual rack and the outer tie rod to a mk3 vr6 plus suspension steering knuckle?

Just to clarify, they're $109 shipped per set. The way we originally answered was probably interpreted as per rod.

Do you have a MK3 VR and ABA steering knuckle you can compare? They will definitely fit the MK2 manual rack (inner)- not sure if there were ever any manual VR cars produced- even if there weren't, I doubt it is any different, and I'm sure it will work fine (always good to check though)..

I interpreted it as a set but still thought that was pretty high for tie rods. Nonetheless I wasn't aware these are genuine oem euro from over the pond, I was under the assumption you guys initiated limited reproduction runs...

Don't have an aba knuckle I can compare.. Not sure if its just speculation or fact but there is talk of canadian/euro vr6s' that came with manual racks..

Awesome, if it works out ill gladly buy a set
ETKA only shows one carrier for AAA applications. There are a couple for the 4 cyl, but what differentiates them is ABS, primarily (no mention of power steering vs. manual steering)

We have a ZF rack and power ZF tie rods on hand, so we can compare them side by side w/the manual setup to verify length and size equivalency. Once this is done, there will be no doubts.

OK, should work dandy. Same overall length for power ZF setup (which VR6 cars are equipped with) vs manual MK2 rack w/manual MK3 tie rods shown here:

Same 13 mm shaft dia. on the outer rod ends:

1991 Jetta manual steering conversion

Hi. Just so I'm clear, what steering knuckle do I need so I can convert from power steering to a Meyle manual rack? Already have the rack but didn't realize the knuckle needed changing also.

Thanks

You need different tie rods, mounting hardware & u-joint, all of which we have. There are no unique steering knuckles for power vs. manual steering for MK2's.
Shoot us an IM if you'd like to purchase the remainder of the parts you will need.
