Okay I feel stupid but I am changing my back brakes and rotors and I have the bolts of the rim but I cant get the rim off this is probally pretty simple I am just not sure! also do I need any info cause of the abs I have changes brake pads before but not with a.b.s thanks
tap the tire around with a rubber mallet really lightly. its just seized onto the hub. get some antiseize compound and put it on there when you put the wheel back on. put it on the hub and on the lug threads. the mallet should break it loose.
edit- damn! you beat me to it.
try kicking it from underneath towards the outside,if that dont work you could try putting the rubber mallet against the rim on the inside and hitting the mallet with a hammer so you dont damage the rims...i used to have a golf and that happend to me many times.then you could use a soft disk grinder to grind off the rust where it was jammed.
I had the same problem. Warning this isnt too safe but it worked. what I did was loosen the lug nuts a little and then drive my car over a few bad roads at about 15 to 20 mph. after about 5 minutes, i could see that the wheel was semi loose so I stopped, lifted it up with the jack and tightened them back up. Works like a charm, but also is pretty stupid!!
Four foot 2x4, then your leg isn't under the car when it falls off the jack stands. Boy, would that suck. Plus, you can beat the living sh1t out of it and when it doesn't come off, you can go beat the poop out of a tree.
