Has anyone changed the boost-sensing diaphragm insinde the ECU?? My pistons were shot and I was blowing lots of oil. I'm sure that there must be some oil inside the diaphragm, since there was some in the 1-meter long hose...
I'm just wondering if I can clean the oil with solvent, or should I just change the diaphragm, has anyone done this before? Are there any upgrades available while I'm at it?
Tx,

Re: ECU Boost sensor diaphragm (Kokino)

DO NOT try to clean that with anything. If you want to see if it is dirty on the inside you will have to take it apart and take out the vacuum hose that is connected to the pressure transducer. If you tryed to clean the vacuum tube with any tipe of cleaner it could get inside of the pressure transducer and destroy the pressure sensative jelly that is inside of it. Hope this helped you out.

Re: ECU Boost sensor diaphragm (mrkrad)

quote:

good reason to do a 2.5bar map sensor replacement!!

cheaper to replace the whole ecu imo than source and replace the map sensor with a factory compatible part.

Yeah, a 2.5bar sensor would be great, but I won't be running more than 15psi of boost (since I'll be running 9:1 cr.). Besides, I heard that the MAP sensor was a Bosch part that cost something like $100...I'll know when I remove the ECU cover this weekend.
