Eibach Pro Kit and...

1539 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  catalytic
Hi Everyone,
I think I've decided on the Eibach pro Kit, but need to get dampers. I was going to get the Eibach Pro Damper, but I've contacted 14 different companies and no one has them. Even Tire Rack said they are about 2months from getting more in. So, what would you do, and why. If you add another choice to the poll, please provide input. Thanks! Ohh, and I've got new 18" wheels and tires sitting in my garage for the past 3weeks waiting on my suspension.

Thanks for the link PAL. I was considering the Konis, but I had heard that to adjust the Rear Dampers, you must remove them.

But then I saw this:

Those are custom rear dampers with compression damping ... the regular ones are only rebound adjustable and for the rear you do need to remove at least the lower part of the shock and rotate.
I have the rears on full soft and don't think I want to make them any harder ... I do keep playing with the front damping multiple times a day (still have not got over the ease of adjusting
).

Pal, I'm also considering Eibach spring and Koni adjustable shocks. Are the fronts adjustable without having to take the shocks off the car? I'm guessing I would just run the rears at full soft all the time.

The fronts can be adjusted in a matter of seconds ... you dont even have to lift the car or anything ... just turn a knob. I am running the rears at full soft and play with the fronts based on mood

I have the Pro kit/Bilstein setup and I love it. It's been good on the track as well as on the street. I chose the Bilstein for there build quality (have you seen the struts, HUGE shaft) and they had a lot of compression and rebound. No break dive, and reduced roll thanks to shorter shafts (Sport). They arn't adjustable, so if you care about that go with someone else.

Y2kVR6GTI, why don't you get the ProSystem, which comes with the ProKits and ProDampers together in the same box? No waiting for ProDampers! ...Assuming that shox.com has the ProSystem in stock, that is...

Yep, every place I called on the Pro-System was out of staock till mid March. The dampers seem to be the holdup. So, my new wheels sit in the garage another few weeks.

Well, if you're really desperate, then just get the Koni Sport like pal did. It is probably the closest to the ProDamper shocks in terms of comfort and performance when set on full soft. But then again, you have already waited this long...
