I have B&M SS and have heard you can use your side-to-side SS with it...or even both...is this true?

Yes this is true, at least we know they can both be installed as they replace different components, although we do not feel the B&M components are necessary.

Thanks!!! B&M has me sold on the lift up notch for reverse...i like it way better than going into reverse the stock way! I have heard of people running the B&M and your Side-to-side SS so i might be in the market for doing the same thing! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Can you explain the difference in front to back and side to side and how each part works?
Do you need both parts to make a complete short shifter, or can you just use one part?

You are absolutely correct. The MKV short shift kits have been available for some time now. However there was a production break on the late 06 and up models requiring a slight modification in order to work.

The difference between STS and front to back is just that. The front to back reduces front to back throw and STS reduces side to side throw. You can use one part if you prefer but that will only give you a reduction in some throw. For instance...if you just installed the front to back piece, you would only be reducing front to back throw.

So how do we know if we have the right one? When I received mine, the package said MK4 on it. I called and they assured me it was the same thing. But now your saying its not. ???

so my early 06 would require what?!
or is that why you need the VIN?

Why do you need the VIN numbers to purchase these?

because some cars from various production runs require a cable adjuster in order to use the shifter lever.
