Why doesn't anyone make a fan that
goes in the intake (after the filter ) to force
more air in ? I know it's far from the pressures
of a turbo or supercharger , but i was with
Mary the other day and we came up with that ....
Matching the fan RPM to the engine RPM is quite
simple...

Re: Electric Turbo (A1Rocco)

Thanks for the article !
Now THAT's talking my language.
I knew that it would be impossible
to reproduce the boost of turbos and
blowers but that wasn't what i was
really after....and i would not pay
300$
for that piece of crap
maybe 40$ tops. for 300$ i could
buy some REAL mods
Throttle response was what i was after,
i'm thinking that integrating the 'fan' in a
cool air duct (before the filter ) might be
a good week-end ghetto project !
I got this idea from looking at my CIS and
wondering how to RAM more air in !!!!
T'was very informative anyways !

PC fans wouldn't be my first choice...
i still got some modified motors and
full of stuff from my RC days.....

NOOOOO!!! Not the Kibortion!! This pinhead, Mark Kibort the inventor of the eRam tried peddling that POS on the BMW digests a few years ago but was quickly revealed as a charlatan. The electronic turbo fan is similar in concept - in other words, it's works well on paper (if you don't read the paper too closely) and makes tonnes of money for the "inventors" off of people who are willing to pay big dollars to "try anyting once"
Save your money - if you want better throttle response from a turbo, dump your single big turbo and go with 2 smaller ones - less inertial mass. Then dump CIS (or even Moronic) and go with a real fuel infection system like Electromotive or Motec (there are others but the elude me at the moment).

Just be sure to mount the entire shop vac securely to the top of the hood - thus giving your car the "exposed blower" look
