Alright I am removing abs on my car and need to go to regular brakes. My master cylander has 2 lines comming off of it to the ABS module then 4 lines out 1 to each brake. Now I need to get it to have 4 lines from the master to the 4 brakes. I have founf out that some mk4 98-99 beetles did not have abs and I can use a matercylander out of that. Can anyone confirm? Also if the 98-99 beetles have a master w/ 4 lines out will it bolt up to my booster?? I have a 2001 GTI it should. Can any brake experts help me out??

Re: eliminating ABS on mk4?? (reflexgti)

I know on my Mk3 all I did was unplug one wheel speed sensor and then zip tie it safely out of the way for track use, this should work on a Mk4 as well. You will need a Vag Com most likely to clear a code when you re-enable it.

Re: eliminating ABS on mk4?? (Lag)

You'll get yourself in big trouble if you don't install some kind of proportioning valve before disabling ABS. Mk4 rear brakes lock up very easily, and that's pretty dangerous in corners or while speeding.
