I have taken my ABA block to the machine shop. I got a call today from them. They say that the Pauter Rods are hitting the cyclinder wall. Is this normal? Have anyone dealt with this?

What kind of stroke are you running?

I assumed that the rods were stock stroke.

rods might be stock length....but the what the stroke on the crank?

Well.... I just found out that the Pauter rods will need to have the block notched.
The block was completley stock except for the rods and pistons

I was just going to say get the block notched, but you already figured this out. Don't worry too much about this, it's not uncommon to notch the bottom of the cylinders to make room for the rods. Sometimes when stroking out a bottom end you almost have no choice but to notch in certain applications.
