Hi guys,
I recently had my Engine Check Light come

on and I got it checked out.

The mechanic said that my break switch was not working according to his computer (i saw it), but my break lights were still functioning. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
The engine light then went off for a few days but it has come back on again.

My break lights are still working, so should i suspect that my OBD sensor is malfunctioning - how would I know which one?

I know that the obd sensors are warrentied for 8 years or 130000 Km.

BRAKE
It could be that your brake sensor isn't working right even though your brake lights do. The VW brake light switches are absolute crap.

Have you had the same prob?
I surely do not want to spend 60 bucks at the dealer ship to simply get a diagnostic check !!!!!!!!

The light is off again so i am happy, but hope nothing else is serious - i love my car, but do not like redeculious expenses

Well I've had issues with the brake sensor like everybody else, but not your exact problem. I wouldn't doubt that the sensor is malfunctioning just because your lights still work though. There is also a recall on the hazard switch which cause some electrical gremlins but that is prob not related.
