I have a 2001 Golf 2.0L and the Engine light is on all the time, it looks likes christmas lights in the car. VW old me that is was bad gas, It's still on. Then they told me that is the Cat so I had them replace it yestarday and it just came on.
any sugestions PLEASE HELP

I don't understand this question. Did your dealer run vag-com on it? The codes are very specific. Did they just tell you over the phone that the cat needed to be replaced? How are we going to be able to help you better than the dealer who evidentally has more information?

You need to find someone with a VAG-COM to scan your trouble codes... or you can try AutoZone, but you're better off trying the regional forums and looking for someone local w/a VAG-COM

was obviously at the dealership when they told me that it was the Cat. So they said they would replace it because it was under warranty. Before i had asked them (WHILE I WAS AT VW) and the service guy said that it must be bad gas and not to worry about it.
