Re: Euro lights -- no high beams (Blown6T)

Anybody? KineticSLC, Niko, you guys out there?
It only started happening recently. It just doesn't make sense, even if the high beams were blown, the headlights should stay lit.

Re: Euro lights -- no high beams (G60247)

G60247: Now you've hit on my biggest problem. I didn't put the euros in. The PO did.
There are relays in there, I removed the fuse box panel and noticed two hella relays off to the side. I traced some of the wiring and found they go to the lights.
I haven't pulled all the wiring though. I really don't want to but maybe that's my only option. Just want to check if anyone's encountered this before and knows a quick fix.

Re: Euro lights -- no high beams (Blown6T)

If the person wired them correctly, they should have intalled a fuse inline for the high beams, maybe see if you can trace it down.
Also, the relays are under the dash w/the fuse box?? The only way I have ever seen them run is with the relays in the front/under the hood. It basically breaksdown like this: there are 4 wires on each relay
-power
-trigger (from old headlight wires/switch to relay)
-ground
-wire to the headlight
Try tracing the wires and make sure they are all hooked up. And see if there is a fuse inline somewhere going to the relay (there should be). It just depends on what type/set-up the PO used for the harness.
BTW, you probably won't find Kris (KinetikSLC in this forum, try the C)

Re: Euro lights -- no high beams (TexasCorradoG60)

If the lights are fused as a european C, maybe both the fuses for the high beams are blown.
When you select high beam the lights would go out cos that's how they are wired if you have H4 bulbs. I don't think the bulbs would run for long with both filaments on.

Re: Euro lights -- no high beams (H100VW)

Thanks everybody. I'm gonna' pull them this weekend and just rewire the suckers.
H100VW: Are there many Corrados around Murkeyside? I'm originally from the Wirral and didn't see any when I came home last Christmas. I was looking too.

Blown6T, did you sort out your lights then?
As for Corrados in Murkyside, the last few days have been pants, so wouldn't have been able to see them anyway.

Corrados are getting cheaper here by the week. 16Vs start at 2K for a G reg, G60s have come down to 3ish and VRs are down to 4.5-5. But who can put petrol in one of them over here??
When I do see them, they are usually in my mirrors.

Have you been in the States long?
Cheers
Gavin
