OK, I know what the problem is, and I think I know what the solution is, but I dont know how do solve it.
The problem is that I just installed my eurolights with a new dimensions harness. My city lights and low beams work fine, but I get only city lights when I switch to high beams. The new dimensions harness has two relays, one for lows, and one for highs. I tapped into the low and high beam wires on the drivers side first and the highs didn't work. So I ran a jumper from the battery to the relay to trigger the high beams and they work fine. Then I ran a jumper from the passenger side high beam to the relay and they worked for a few minutes but suddenly blew the fuse for the high beams.
Upon further inspection I found that both highbeam fuses were blown so I assume that the reason that the highs weren't working before was because of a blown fuse. So there is the solution, there is a problem with a short somewhere causing the high beams to blow their fuse when they are triggering the relay. I have inspected the whole wiring harness and nothing appears to be wrong. Does anyone have any ideas?
I know that there isn't really anything you guys can do, it seems like the answer is right there in front of me but I just am not seeing it, but I was just wondering if anyone had this problem before?

Re: Eurolight help needed, Yes I did a search (SMOKE2000)

Sorry no help from me......I am still trying to get my high beam and city lights working with the ND harness....but I think i'll check my fuses now.......my corrado has only low beams working and it already better than the stock ones. Just my $0.02

1) Pull out the headlight switch
2) Pull the thick black/white wire from the back of the switch (it's HARD to get out, be patient)
3) Insert the wire into the NSL terminal
4) Make sure you have a ground connection from the battery to the chassis
5) Replace all fuses
6) Switch'm on
Give that a try.

Re: Eurolight help needed, Yes I did a search (NeedSLCBad)

I've done this to correct a problem where my switch did not consistantly switch from citylights to citylights + low beams. after removing my euro lights installed from a previous owner and plugging everything back in i no longer have working high beams or side markers
i will check my fuses to see if this might be my problem because i have the same symtoms. when i switch to high beams my low beams switch off leaving only the city lights. i would really love to get this solved. off hand do you remeber what fuse numbers correspond to high beams and low beams??

Re: Eurolight help needed, Yes I did a search (tachycardia)

switched out those two fuses and my high beams are still a no go. so i'm at a loss at this point. dont know what else i can look at and frankly i'm a little baffled by all the wiring for these blasted things. anyway i guess i'll have to do without unless anyone has any other ideas. it was suggested that i should get an ND harness/relays but I'm hesistant because of price and because these things worked untill i unplugged them. I know someone here on the vortex makes some custom relays for euro lights. Maybe they can chime in and help me out here??

I don't have a ND Harness, but maybe I could help

This sounds confusing to me. The triggering power to the relay should come from the stock wiring. Once it triggers the relay, a seperate power source runs the lights.
In my case, I ran two seperate leads off the battery, each with an in line 30 amp fuse. Using the the stock wiring on the driver side to trigger the relays. I should mention that having a good ground is very important. I made my own harness using some diagrams from fellow vortexers. I will try to find them.
It would also help if I had a diagram of ND harness.
I have the same city light issue BTW. To me it is no big deal, but as NeedSLCBad menitoned, there is a work around that will take care of it.

basically the harness is simple, there is one relay for the high beams and one for the low beams. Those are triggered off the stock drivers side harness, I think is was the yellow wire for low, white for high, but it could have been vice versa(I haven't looked at that in a few days). The relays have pos and neg leads that go to the battery, the input high or low beam lead, and outputs to the lights themselves. There is also a place on the light plug itself to hook up your black parking light lead to the city lights. So for me what happens is when I turn on the parking lights, the city lights come on. When I turn on the low beams, the city lights and low beams come on. When I switch to high beams, the low beams go off and the fuse under the dash for the drivers side high beam blows leaving me with just city lights. That is why I ran a jumper from the battery, and from the passenger side high beam wire, so I could determine if 1: the high beams actually worked, and 2: if the problem was isolated to the drivers side high beam lead. It was not isolated to the drivers side at all, because the passenger side fuse blew in the fuse box after a minute or two.
So you can see my problem, I am just wondering if I am overlooking something.

It sounds like you may have a bad relay. Since the triggering lead should not require that much currant to trigger the relay, and definatley not enough load to blow the stock fuse.
I would trie switching the relay from the low beams to see if you still have the problem. If it still blows than I am stumped as well.
Good luck!

yah, I tried that too with no luck. But now that I think about it, I may have been trying it with a bad fuse at the time, so I will try that again just to be sure. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I also had a problem with the ND harness - city lights, no low beam, high beams OK. My problem was the wires going into/out of the relays were not seated correctly. Silly problem, but it took a while with a circuit tester to find.

"Glad I made my own relay harneses"
Got that right !
I was just thinking, a couple $0.80 relays and some scrap wire and mine are in like flyn... (though i'm an electrician by trade, so i had the wire laying around, but...)

Re: Eurolight help needed, Yes I did a search (YetiMan)

Man oh man. I've re-looked at all of my wiring and the pictures I took of it before disconnecting everything and well I am pretty sure I plugged everything back in the way it was before. Still no high beams or side markers. This is beginning to get very frustrating. One odd thing I notice that perhaps one of you can clarify. There is one plug that connects to the underside of my lower grille spoiler on the passenger side, apparently to nothing. What the heck is this thing for? Does anyone have any suggestions at this point? Kinetik SLC, maybe I should try a set of your relays. Are they difficult to make?

Re: Eurolight help needed, Yes I did a search (SMOKE2000)

Well, I have finally solved the problem (though I had been working on other things lately). It turns out that ND totally wired the relays back-asswords with only the ground being in the correct position. If I were some kind of electically inclined person this probobly would have been pretty obvious, but it took some radio shack relay packaging to finally tip me off to the problem. So those of you with ND harnesses that are having problems might want to check this out.
