Had my Evo CAI installed today by the boys at Rennen Perfromance. I didnt expect much of a gain but boy was i wrong! The engine is so more willing to rev. Big difference in 1st and 2nd! I recommend that everybody that has an .:R32 get a CAI installed!

Re: Evo CAI Finally Installed. . . . (Monteballz)

I wanted to do this but live in CA and the EVO CAI is not C.A.R.B certified so that would mean every time I want a smog check I'd have to take it out and put the stock box back in...
I have heard nothing but good things about it. If anyone knows of a C.A.R.B certified CAI let me know!

Isnt it 5 years till the first smog check on new cars then every other year after?

It's 4 years, then every other year here's the official FAQ
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm
From reading it.. some counties have a 6 year exepmtion from new (!)

"Vehicles that are four model years old, or less, are exempt from the biennial smog inspection for registration renewal. These vehicle owners will pay an annual $4 smog abatement fee for the first four registration years."
This tells me you dont need the smog check till the 5th year. So if you buy in 2004, first smog check is in 2009. Then every odd year after.

Re: (Monteballz)

sorry I was supposed to IM you the other day! The mount is crap. I heard the VF one is much better but has the added vibrations. I may try it out in the future. I just spent too much on the car so I need to wait!

Re: (peppeVR6)

Now about that chip. I think it adds significant power to the car. You can definately feel the extra ponies. The car pulls much harder now and feels consistent throughout the power band. Redline is increased to 7K and you can hit 63 in second gear. The governor is also removed but I haven't tested that out yet. I probably won't either! There is also a little torque steer when you punch the car. Not a lot but a little. If you guys have any more specific questions please ask.
