received an EVOMS intake yesterday, install was very straightforward. A little dissapointed that the silicone coupling wasnt designed specifically for our cars, it is just a regular 24v VR6 size coupling.
Question is, does the box just lay there? or does it mount somehow? Now that I think about it, does it have holes in the bottom to mount to the stock box location?

Then they sent you the wrong one...others have had this problem with mis-pack also. I remember the posts. Call up Evo, they will send you the proper one! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

The silicone reducer is designed to be extra tight so there is no chance of it coming loose. If you have a pair of calipers handy (which not everyone does) it is supposed to be 83mm on the larger side and 76mm on the smaller side.
If you did happen to receive the incorrect reducer, please don't hesitate to call!

check any tape measures/rulers you have laying around. Many of them have mm markings on 'em also! Waaaay more common than calipers.

Agreed - just sits there, but works out OK. Wierded me out when I was installing it too but I've had no problems.
