Excessive rear inside tire wear, Could it be soft tires or wrong offset?

I am considering getting rid of my 17x8, ET35s and getting 16s. My stock 15s seem to wear very evenly with my lowered Bilstein/Eibach setup.
I have searched re: the tire wear issue. No one seems to be discussing offset...
Could it be that the offset is what is killing my tires? Are my 17s pushed too far into the wheel well causing my camber to wearout my inside rear tires.
What offsets are you guys using for 17s? Are you getting excessive tire wear? Should I put some spacers in to pull the 17 wheel out from the well?
I had Bridgestone Potenzas RE71 140 AA rating tires. Could it be that the tires are just too soft?
Has anyone else changed tires and noticed reduced inside wear?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i'm using 18x8 with a ET 35. i have no abnormal tire wear at all.
have you tried getting another alignment? also maybe rebalancing your wheels? should consider that first before you give up those sweet BBS rims!

I have had the front aligned properly for the lower stance. The rear cannot be aligned (it is fixed). Is there something else to do for rear alignment? Did you align yours?
Thanks.
