I am having some problems with my exhaust. The pipe that goes over my axle, to my Remus muffler, sits on the axle, and bounces and rubs when I hit bumps. I noticed it when I had sport springs on the car, more so when there is a load in the back. Now I have race springs and it's even worse. I took it to the shop that installed the muffler, and they told me they would have to fabricate a pipe with more of a curve, to clear the axle. There really isn't much room to lift what is there, becuase the muffler would contact the heatshield, and the tips would be touching the plastic 4mo valence. I'm sure someone has ran into this before, does anyone have any tips on how to fix it? Thanks for the help. Josh.

Re: Exhaust touching rear axle, Any ideas??? (agt5)

Had the same problem with my Corrado.
I got a piece of thick @$$ coolant hose and put over the axle. when it touched you heard nothing.
Just put a slit in the hose then put over axle. Worked for as long as I had the car.
Jack up the car until you can reach under then your all set good luck. Find the thickest hose you can find. Don't worry about the heat cause it only touches for a second. I never smelled anything or had a problem. Ghetto repair http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

My custom mid-pipe vibrates against the rear axle after I got my car lowered on H&R Race... I have to get another pipe fabricated for my car. What a PITA.. oh well.
