I’m swapping from a 1.6 to a 1.8 and while installing the studs for my exhaust manifold, i noticed an extra opening in the rear of my head compared to the 1.6 I originally had. what goes here? i was just planning on plugging it, and is that the best way to go?

A plastic flange with a barbed fitting mounts there to supply the air for the air shrouded injectors.

You will need to plug it off. Madrivearms is correct.
