F.U.B.A.R Fuba?

Any one ever replace the roof top antenna on a rocco? I'm getting crappy FM reception, probably AM too. The olny thing is taking down the headliner, is it possible without ruining it? If so how do I doit? And one more thing where is the wire routed, from the antenna?
Oh yea the antenna power wire is getting 12V. Could the antenna just have a bad ground to the body?

The antenna wire ends under the shift boot, then theres a extension to the radio. I replaced the extension and no dice.
On lunch break, I checked how to check get to it and the rear hatch seal kinda clamps the headliner to the body. I have a new fuba at my house, but it has a motorola type end instead of the old school style. Don't know what mine has, anybody? Motorola ->old school tyle adapter? But if mine is a motorola style I'm just going to replace it and make sure the base has a good ground.
Oh yea some very unusefull FYI, the spirals on the newer fuba masts are olny to rid of wind noise nothing else. Like I could hear wind noise over my car

Paul good site!

Same thing, the headliner just started cracking. Then there was the foam stuff that I couldn't reach by so I just put it back together, because it was like 10 degrees out.
