It all depend of color and equipment of your car. Black and silver will take less time than a rave green. Mine was on the lot. It was like enter, paper work, pay, and voila I was on my way to registration.

i did autobytel.com, put in everything i wanted and the local dealer called and said they had it.. bought it the next day..

I ordered a similar combo to yours... 02 GTI 1.8t 5 speed with leather package only.... in rave green
I ordered it august 24th, and it supposedly went into 'production' october 10th.
no VIN yet or anything.... So i'm guessing the 1rst of the year?
