The car is original and fairly unmolested and without typical diseased rust in the typical areas. I think it should go to a proper enthusiast. I wanted a mk1 for a fun project but im not really into restoring. Its in good shape with original paint and runs/drives although the brakes need work. missing correct front seats, drivers mirror. It does have original carb 1.5l and 4 speed.

NOOBLEZZ came and saw this today. we did find two holes in the pan (one drivers side and one pass side foot well) along with a few holes in the rain tray. the drivers door sill is solid but may be thin in a few spots.

Its a very solid car for forty years old though and a survivor. Easily a great start on a restoration as almost all the rare parts are there. The original 1.5 litre and 4 speed manual are a plus. Started up after a few cranks to get fuel up to the carb.

Someone will be very happy with this vw.

Also. it says phoenixrot as the paint color in the spare tire well
and also has disc brakes in the front, an option only for the 1.5L i believe.

Ive settled at $2000. Thats a fair number to me.

also, all of these pics are from before i brought it home and cleaned it up.
It cleaned up even nicer. painted or the original patina will look amazing as a restoration in progress.

yeah Im on it. been busy this week but the engine bay is stock with some added homebrew electrical, fuel filter and aux electric fuel pump T'ed in before and after the mechanical pump.

The interior is rough. needs carpet and seats, headliner, dash is missing speaker cover and is a two gauge cluster ( a clock and speedo) with the shift pattern on the dash. The dash is cracked.

The positives are that all the hard to find parts are there.
