the car is running like a mad man, god i love the 16v. Idle is still a lil erratic but after 3 drops it smooths. getting plugs, wires, and an o2 tomorrow among other things, ( going yarding! ) anyway every since I messed with the air/fuel mixture and idle screw when i give it gas when the clutch engages ONLY in first gear it feels like theres not enough fuel or air. and then shoots a lil and drive damn good. I'm stumped. The mixture is at 4. I know its supposed to be a 5mA but i was reading up on the one guys how-to and it said for a lil more performance get it at 3.0 so i comprimised. and it does kick arse at high end and its still fine at low end but the first gear clutch engage ( word for this? ) is weak then goes great. anyone?

East- Have you advanced the ignition timing yet (as per Alex's site)? You'll see a big difference in low-end and throttle response.

i know your car is CIS-E, but does anyone know if motronic 16v's automatically control the air/fuel or is there too a screw to adjust it? if so where...I've looked about the fuel distributer and didn't see anyhting that looked like it.

thats with the timing light? If so no, I havent been able to get my hands on one. but each thing i have done helps the idle out and improves the car all around. My friend has a timing light.. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Check your front calipers to see if one side is dragging. That will cause an off idle stumble when you casually let out the clutch.

eastcoast, that first gear thing sounds exactly like a torn intake boot. REMOVE it and inspect the bottom of it.
bpfoley, motronics also have the mixture screw, but you should leave it set stock, and use an aftermarket chip to richen the mixture. Read my site.
