I honestly think the words "Mk1" and "woman driver" are mutually exculsive, never the twain shall meet. Like I said in a previous post, even if a girl decides to go for a ride in one once, she'll never ask again

Re: Female A1 owners (splitmeister)

I honestly felt the same way back when I had my '83 GTI. That GTI taught me alot - namely that I should never tell passengers of the female persuasion that I could feel their weight in the car and that it was affecting my acceleration. I could chalk it up to that but in all honesty I think it was my command of the close ratio gearbox (or lack thereof) and the stiff suspension that kept female friends out of that car.
I've since learned from that and repented - I now do my best to encourage womenvolk that display any propensity for working on their cars to DIY. So its a treat to see that there are woman that like working on their A1s... keep it up gals...
regards,
Peter Tong

Re: Female A1 owners (Peter Tong)

I concur any women who turn wrenches on thier own A1 have my utmost respect or even drive one for that matter. I want to say I respect all A1 owners no matter gender sexual preference or walk of life. Drink a beer for A1 owners
