....what is the best bang for the buck in your eyes? I use Hawk HPS on my Jetta and love the low emissions. Does anybody have any experience with these and what is your preference?....thanks! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I use crappy Friction-Grip pads from pep boys. They are $20 and have a lifetime waranty, I just keep the reciept and when I burn them up I take them back. Free brake pads for life!

I'm using Ferrodo street compound on my Rabbit, and love them. Very dirty pads, but they stop like nothing.

I have used both the Ferodo DS2000's and the Hawks Street/Autocross compound. Both performed about the same in 60mph to 0 stopping distance and fade resistance testing I did useing a G-Tech. They both gave excellent peddle feedbackand where easy to control. The limiting factor seems to be tire rather than the brakes. I used a set of 205/60-13 AVS Intermediates and then 205/50-15 Potensa S-03.
The Hawk does not produce anywhere near the dust that the Ferodo does but is a bit more touchy the first time you use them on a cold(<10 degree F) morning.
