Ok, I found out last week that lots of you use your rear ashtray hole for a cupholder (if you take it out of the console). I tried it and it works pretty well.
I dont smoke, and even if I did it wouldnt be in my car so I have no need for an ashtray, let alone a rear one. I was thinking of Molding a fiberglass piece that is as deep as that hole and will just drop in like the ashtray but that will be just like a stock cupholder. Anyone think this would work? I also dont know how much fiberglass materials cost.

But dont you think it would be kinda anoying to reach all the way there every time you wanna sip????

Man, you're doing it the hard way - Go B(C)orrado Go!!! Take pics, lots of pics.... and while your at it might as well make a little pocket for the cell phone, and coins!

DEFINETLY need something for change. Someone should make a whole new console piece like the A4's have with the armrest and poop in it. that would be dope.

i think the amount of time and money spent in trying to modifying the rear ashtray is not worth it man....get the Passat cup holder and mount it on the passenger side near the center console... it only cost you 20 for a single and 40 for a dual holder.
