First Dyno Run

My first ever dyno run!! Thanks to Stephen B. for hooking up the whole thing!! Anyways...I was hoping for a little more power than what I got...Here are my list of mods: GIAC V.11, 2 1/2 inch Turbo Back (APR/Eurosport), Eurosport UDP, Powergasket, GFB BOV, Injen CAI, ABD TIP and Lower intercooler pipe, "H" N75 valve, Greentop coolant sensor and all coilpacks replaced (J's). I was expecting as least 200 but I'm still overall happy with my choice of mods. There was one other GTI with APR chip that put down 209hp/237tq!! He has a 3 inch downpipe. As soon as I scan his dyno sheet in I'll ask him if I can post them up for comparison.
Here is my run: 191.1 hp Max torque 238.0

The temp was about 70 degrees, Don't know about humidity, 91 octane gas. They do two pulls back to back in 4th gear. I still think I would have got a little bit more if I had a fan blowing. They didn't bring out the fan till later...

Whats up with your Torque curve from 3000-4500 RPM's. Not smooth at all. I would see whats going on with your car. Im sure the missing HP is there.

Good point! I'll have to look into that...I suspect maybe the "H" N75 valve. At least now I have a good idea as to where I'm at with my current mods. Might try swapping out some parts and re dyno.
Re: First Dyno Run (AWP20V)

Running way rich right at 5.25K rpms. Insist they use a fan if you go back and wait ten minutes between runs. Heatsoak will rob you on the dyno.
Re: First Dyno Run (VDUBNDizzy)

mbc will make that plot smooth as silk guaranteed.
Re: First Dyno Run (turbomadman)

i'd see what changing your N75 out does. especially before putting on a mbc.

Re: First Dyno Run (01 Wolfsburg)

arent they supposed to dyno in 3rd gear?

I believe 4th gear would be closer to a 1:1 ratio than 3rd, making it a more optimal gear for a dyno run. I have dyno'd my car before, with one run in 3rd and another run in 4th. The numbers were within 5 hp/tq of each other.

My thoughts exactly! I am curious however to see what the car will do with a MBC

Isn't the 4th gear dyno supposed to be for the 6 speed cars and 3rd for the 5 speed cars? I could be wrong.

Re: First Dyno Run (Foomanchu)

umm, are you running your BOV as a BOV? if so Id say taht could be part of your problem.
Re: First Dyno Run (Adam20v)

sorry if this is a dumb question, but are those numbers from the wheel or from the crank?

They are wheel numbers.
